How dialogue forums are easing tension between neighbouring communities
In Elwak, longstanding disputes over grazing land and water access had strained relationships between neighbouring communities for years. PPDI's community dialogue forums brought elders, youth representatives, and local leaders together around a shared table.
"We stopped seeing each other as rivals for resources, and started seeing each other as neighbours with the same problem."
Six months on, the forums meet monthly, and a joint resource-sharing agreement is now in place between the two communities.
